The Mosquito Supper Club is one of the coziest wedding venues in New Orleans. Your guests will feel right at home in this restaurant where you tie the knot on the front porch then sip decadent cocktails on a patio. I love the distinctly New Orleans charm you find here. It was the perfect venue for Sabrina and Adam’s intimate wedding.
The Mosquito Supper Club is a gem. The way it typically works is that you make a reservation for a family-style meal in the house-turned-restaurant. You don’t see this kind of restaurant much anymore, and it makes so much sense in New Orleans where people are excited to mingle and experience great food. The menu changes weekly and celebrates Cajun culinary culture, especially seafood.
Walking into this restaurant feels like walking into someone’s beautifully decorated home. Botanical prints and cool architectural details adorn the narrow dining room featuring one long table. Being at the Mosquito Supper Club really feels like being at home but with way better food than you would make for yourself.
Here are a few things to consider if you want to get married at the Mosquito Supper Club.
The Mosquito Supper Club was an ideal New Orleans wedding venue for Sabrina and Adam. As Sabrina put it, “I love to cook, and Adam likes to eat. Choosing the Mosquito Supper Club felt like the perfect setting for our ceremony and reception.”
This wedding was definitely designed for foodies! Sabrina and Adam’s four-course wedding dinner included
My mouth is watering just remembering it!
When I spoke with Sabrina and Adam, they said they liked to keep things “sweet and simple” in their relationship. The Mosquito Supper Club offered them a chance to skip potential wedding day distractions and focused on their most important people. Of the venue, Sabrina said, “We’re looking forward to the intimacy and charm of the space.” It suited their celebration so well.
Even though Sabrina and Adam kept their wedding intimate, they came to me with a strong vision for their wedding day. They told me, “We’re imagining a very cohesive experience between the flowers, food, art, stationary, and photography.” Everything came together beautifully.
The floral installations on the porch and reception space were especially amazing. Sharime Kayla Floral Design created pieces that blurred the lines between the architecture and garden. The rich pink, red, and blue hues complemented the gold and green tones of the building. In the dining room, the flowers added a sense of festivity to the inviting yet elegant decor.
Sabrina and Adam met in Los Angeles, and their relationship has taken them all over the world since then. They lived in Ireland for the two years leading up to their wedding. Sabrina is a New Orleans native, so their Mosquito Supper Club wedding gave them the chance to celebrate her roots and show Adam’s family the city.
For Sabrina and Adam’s wedding at the Mosquito Supper Club, I focused on documenting the day as it happened. Instead of posing everyone for a series of photoshoots, I tried to be a fly on the wall. As a result, you see so much genuine joy in these photos. Sabrina and Adam are at ease with each other, and the people around them look so in the moment. As a photographer, I’m always glad to hold space for my clients to just enjoy their day.
Are you interested in having me photograph your wedding? I’m Ali, a New Orleans wedding photographer specializing in film. I’d love to document your wedding day with the same intention and craft that I brought to Sabrina and Adam’s celebration. Get in touch with me!
Thank you to the vendors who helped make this intimate wedding so memorable.
